Ashley has resided in Highlands County, Florida all her life and plans to begin her political career there. She is a very energetic young woman with a very bright future ahead.

Kelly O'Brien

Kelly came to Tampa, Florida from Michigan in 2006 and has fit right in to her new home. In 1990, she graduated from Cochise College with an Associate's Degree and Flight Ratings - Douglas, Arizona. Flight Ratings include: Private Pilot, Commercial Pilot, Instrument Rating, Certified Flight Instructor, Certified Ground Instructor and Certified Instrument Instructor. In addition, Kelly received her Jet training and Flight Engineer Rating from ATP - Airline Pilot Training Center as well as Simcom - Simulator Jet Training, Hawker Jet Type Rating (FAA Jet Captain).

In 1993, Kelly received a Bachelor of Liberal Arts - Summa Cum Laude - from the University of Michigan.

From 1996 to 2005, Kelly owned and managed rental homes in the Detroit area. From 2000 to 2005, she worked as a Corporate Pilot and contracted out her flying services. From 2005 to the present, Kelly is involved with Bering Homes and has various duties in construction and home remodeling.

An organization Kelly has been very active with is the 99's Women's Pilot Organization. It helps foster the development of women in aviation. The reason for the name 99, is that the organization was formed by Emelia Earhart and at that time there were only 99 licensed female pilots in the United States.

Kelly is relatively new to politics. She volunteered for the McCain for President campaign. However, she feels very strongly about some of the things she sees happening in the Tampa area. Coming from Detroit, she has seen how a city can be ruined and wants to become a part of preventing the same things from happening in Tampa. With her grit and determination, a career in politics is a natural fit.
