Program Achievements
Since the inception of the first Leadership
Series in 1990, 15-20 outstanding women have successfully completed
the program in each of the states where programs are available.
While none of the Leadership Series programs take positions on issues
or support individual candidates, each woman is encouraged to explore
and develop her own philosophy and then use that to serve her community
in ex paned ways.
Traditionally, 85 percent of the program participants increase their
levels of involvement in the political process by becoming members
of public service boards and commissions, party organization leaders,
candidates for office, officeholders, key campaign volunteers of
government staff appointees.
Women of the Leadership Series are serving as mayors, state legislators,
state office-holders, White House staff members, and Presidential
appointees. They are county commissioners, city council members,
trustees, and clerks. They serve on school boards and a host of
other governmental and political commissions.
